Three quarters of all personal journeys are less than five miles - so why drive when you can cycle?
A recent report by the British Medical Association 'Cycling toward Health and Safety' highlighted the health benefits of cycling.
Cycling burns off approximately 300 calories per hour and also releases endorphins - the body's natural way to promote a feeling of well being.
Regular cycling will improve fitness, weight control and can help you live a long and healthy life.
It's also a non-weight bearing activity and therefore less likely to cause joint injury or damage than other fitness activities.
